About me
Leah Daniel is a water/wastewater process engineer in the AECOM Winnipeg office. Her 6 years of
consulting experience has been focused on design and construction management for wastewater
treatment plant upgrades. During the Portage la Prairie Water Pollution Control Facility Phase 1
Upgrade, she served as the resident engineer for the three simultaneous construction contacts. Leah
earned her B.Sc. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Florida Gulf Coast University and is
currently pursuing her M.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba.
Karly Friesen is the Wastewater Treatment Division Manager for the City of Portage la Prairie. She
worked as the lab tech at the wastewater plant for 11 years before moving up to manager in 2012. Karly
obtained her B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Winnipeg and has her level 4 certification in
wastewater treatment and level 2 in wastewater collections. She was a previous board member of
MWWA and WCW.
